Jammu & Kashmir Government Orders Transfer and Postings of Doctors

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s Health and Medical Education Department has issued Government Order, regarding the transfer and posting of doctors. This move is aimed at improving administration and patient care within the healthcare system.

As per the order, the transfers are being implemented on a temporary basis. These assignments will not grant the transferred doctors any rights for preferential treatment during their regularization or promotion, which will strictly adhere to existing rules.

Additionally, the order mentions that these transfers are subject to the outcomes of any pending court writ petitions.Considering the critical nature of healthcare services, the transferred doctors are deemed relieved immediately and are expected to report to their new postings without delay.

All concerned Heads of Departments (HoDs) have been directed to ensure compliance and submit their reports regarding the joining of these doctors to the Administrative Department by 4:00 PM on December 31, 2024.

This decision underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining efficient and responsive healthcare services across the Union Territory.
