The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially announced 14,191 vacancies for the position of Clerk (Junior Associate) across India. This includes both regular and backlog openings, with the majority of positions designated for regular appointments. Of these, 13,735 vacancies are for regular positions, while the remaining are for backlog vacancies.


Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 28 years
    As of April 1, 2024.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Applicants must hold a graduation degree in any field from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must complete it by December 31, 2024.

Selection Process for SBI Clerk 2024

The selection process is divided into three main stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination: An initial screening to assess basic eligibility.
  2. Mains Examination: A comprehensive test covering various subjects.
  3. Language Proficiency Test: A final stage to evaluate language skills.

Candidates must successfully clear each stage to be eligible for a clerk position in any of the SBI branches.

The 14,191 total vacancies are distributed across various regions, with significant openings in major areas, including:

  • Lucknow/New Delhi: 1,894 vacancies
  • Bhopal Circle: 1,317 vacancies
  • Kolkata Region: 1,254 vacancies
  • Bihar Region: 1,111 vacancies
  • Leh Ladakh: 50 vacancies
