NEW DELHI: BCCI Picks nine venues to host T20 World Cup : The nine shortlisted venues are Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dharamsala, Ahmedabad and Lucknow. The final has been allotted to the Narendra Modi Stadium. The number of venues is two more than what India had used for the 2016 edition. Nagpur and Mohali have been left out this time and instead Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Lucknow have been added.
Moreover, the Pakistan cricket team, led by Babar Azam, will have no difficulty in travelling to India for the ICC T20 World Cup in October as the government is set to grant visas to the players from the neighbouring nation.
The PTI news agency reported that BCCI Secretary Jay Shah informed the Apex Council about government’s decision on giving visas to the Pakistan players. “The visa issue of Pakistan cricket team has been sorted. However whether the fans can travel across the border to watch matches is still not clear,” an Apex Council member told PTI news agency on conditions of anonymity.
