Watch Video: Huge Controversy Erupts as Hardik Pandya Given OUT, 3rd Umpire Blasted For Poor Decision
All-rounder Hardik Pandya was dismissed in a controversial fashion during the first ODI between India and New Zealand in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Pandya tried to play the upper cut to a delivery from Daryl Mitchell but missed it altogether. Wicketkeeper Tom Latham collected the ball just above the stumps.
The incident happened in the 40th over of the Indian innings when Pandya tried to cut an incoming angular delivery from Kiwi all-rounder Daryl Mitchell, but missed it completely.
The bails came off and Mitchell and his teammates celebrated, thinking he had bowled Hardik. But then Kiwi captain and wicket-keeper Tom Latham asked for the umpires to review it because he felt he might have nicked the bails with his gloves.

IND vs NZ 1st ODI: India beat New Zealand by 12 runs despite Bracewell scare
India claimed a thrilling 12-run victory over New Zealand after Shubman Gill scored a double century and Mohammed Siraj picked up four wickets as they kicked off their one-day international series in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Gill scored 208 off 149 balls.
New Zealand opener Finn Allen made 40 but the rest of the batsmen did very little until Michael Bracewell produced a batting masterclass after coming in at number seven.
He made 140 runs, hitting 12 fours and 10 sixes, as he kept the visitors in the contest and took the game until the final over, where he was the last player to be sent packing as they were bowled out with four balls to spare.
