While Umran Malik is yet to shine on the biggest stage, another one named Waseem Bashir is sending the netizens into a frenzy. All of 22-year-old, Bashir is scaring the batters with raw pace in the domestic competitions. The speedster is consistently clocking 150kmph playing for Jammu & Kashmir. Like Malik, Bashir’s extra pace is his USP, and his mentor is Irfan Pathan.

India’s northernmost region of Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as a hotbed of exciting cricketing talents in the last few years. However, there is still so much untapped potential in the region and we often come across videos of talented cricketers on social media.

Journalist Mohsin Kamal has posted another video on his Twitter handle which showed a fast bowler terrorising batters with his raw speed and bounce in domestic cricket.

Another ‘speed king’ is happening in Kashmir

Right-arm pacer Wasim Bashir is seen making the batsmen sweat with his extra pace. Especially when the bowler was seaming the short off length balls, the batsmen’s difficulty increased. A video related to Wasim Bashir was shared on Twitter by a user. “Upcoming 150 kmph fast bowler from Kashmir. Is there a lot of Umran Malik in J&K? Yes it’s the 22-year-old fast bowler from Kashmir, Wasim Bashir, who can probably bowl at 145 kmph (over 150 kmph)”. The information was provided by the respective user in the caption.

IPL auction will be held on December 23

Bashir is likely to benefit from this video going viral. Now it remains to be seen whether his name will come up in the IPL auction or not. Because teams in IPL are eager to have express speedsters in their setup. Notably, the mini auction of IPL 2023 will be held on December 23 in Kochi.
