Former South African speed gun bowler Dale Steyn held a Question & Answer session on microblogging site Twitter on Thursday and he was asked about the best batter across formats among current players from a fan. Responding to the question, the legendary pacer named Pakistan captain Babar Azam. “Who’s the best batsman across all formats currently in your opinion?” a user asked him. “Maybe Babar? He’s pretty darn good,” Steyn wrote in his reply. Babar is currently the No.1 ranked batter in ODIs and T20 Internationals (T20Is), and fifth in Test rankings.

So Dale Steyn has picked Pakistani captain and star batter Babar Azam as the best batter across formats currently. Over the past few years, Babar’s stock has raised stupendously.
Babar Azam has been a consistent performer for Pakistan in the recent past and the right-hander batsman has proven his mettle against almost every opposition in world cricket at the moment.
