Petrol, Diesel Fresh Prices Announced For October 6: Check Fuel Rates In Your City
New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices held steady across metro cities on October 6, the latest price notification issued by fuel retailers showed. However, minor rise and fall in rates has also been observed, in case of individual cities.
Public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) revise their prices daily in line with international benchmark prices and forex rates.
The rates for each day, whether new or unchanged, are announced at 6 am on the day. These, however, vary from state to state; this is due to criteria such as Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, etc.
There is a fall of 57 paise in the price of petrol in Maharashtra. The price of diesel has come down by 55 paise here. Petrol has become cheaper by 48 paise and diesel by 45 paise in West Bengal. There is a decline of 27 paise in the rates of petrol and diesel in Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the prices of petrol and diesel seem to have increased slightly in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Telangana.
At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 a litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 a litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per litre in Chennai.
