NeW DELHI: Analyst at Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky, Tatyana Shishkova, took alert Android phone users about the return of the potent Joker malware on Google play store. Shishkova found that the Joker malware infecting at least 14 Android apps.
The Joker malware created quite a scare last year after it had infected several apps. Google had to intervene and remove those apps to protect users. But it seems like the malware is back on Google Play store again.
Joker malware will hurt you
Joker malware is a dangerous and popular malware. It allows users to subscribe to premium content without their knowledge. The virus enters popular apps in the Google Play Store through Joker malware and enters users’ phones while downloading apps. Joker malware enters the Google Play Store through minor changes to its code and bypasses Play Store security. It is not easily removed and is often reactivated.
It was first detected in 2017 and Google has been working hard for years to protect users from this Joker malware. It automatically clicks on the online ad and even accesses the secret OTP received for the transaction.
