The statement came in response to a question by legislator Muzaffar Iqbal Khan. The minister highlighted that, according to guidelines from the Union Ministry of Education, these workers currently receive a monthly honorarium of ₹1,000 under a 90:10 funding pattern.
She further mentioned that a demand for wage enhancement was previously raised but was not approved, as the honorarium is standardized nationwide and cannot be revised for a specific state or Union Territory.
Additionally, the minister clarified that the provision for employing land donors as casual workers under SRO 520 no longer exists. However, the School Education Department is processing land compensation claims under the UT CAPEX Budget in a phased manner, including cases from the Thanamandi Constituency.
