Lauding the efforts of the J&K team mentor, Irfan Pathan, Samad mentioned that it was Pathan which helped him in the right direction to lead him where he is present. Without him, it wouldn’t have been possible.

Now, the setup is completely different from what it used to be earlier. He also credited Parvez Rasool for the same. Samad said Parvez Rasool is an inspiration who has been guiding him the right way. Overall, JKCA has been quite supportive.

Talking about his earlier days as a junior Cricketer, Samad said that he used to hit every ball for big shots. My scores aren’t big too, it’s those small cameos. But after I debuted for the senior team, I changed my approach a bit by getting selective in choosing the balls to hit for big shots. Then, I started to score big runs. What matters most is your performance at the highest level to get into recognition and the performance at the senior level helped me to get into the IPL.

Getting picked up in the auctions by Sunrisers Hyderabad was the happiest day of my life as well as for my parents.Hopefully, we will get to see more players from the valley playing in IPL along with me.
