Gambhir lashes out at David Warner for ‘shameful’ double-bounce six against Pakistan’s Hafeez- Ashwin comes up with befitting reply to Gautam Gambhir’s tweet

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir lashed out at David Warner after the Australian opener smashed a double-bounced delivery of Mohammad Hafeez for a six during Aussies Thursday’s T20 World Cup semi-final win over Pakistan.

In the eighth over of the innings, the ball slipped out awkwardly from Hafeez’s hand. The ball then bounced twice before Warner dispatched it to the stands on the deep mid-wicket. Umpire then signalled the delivery as no-ball because it had bounced two times.

Gambhir took to Twitter to call out the “shameful” act and also tagged India spinner R Ashwin for his views on the same.

“What an absolutely pathetic display of spirit of the game by Warner! Shameful What say @ashwinravi99?” he wrote.

Responding to Gambhir’s tweet, an Aussie journalist responded saying, “Bad take Gautam”. And Ashwin replied to him saying, “His point is that if this is right , that was right. If that was wrong , this is wrong too. Fair assessment?”

Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade played unbeaten knocks of 40 and 41 respectively as Australia defeated Pakistan by five wickets to enter the final of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.

Australia will now lock horns against New Zealand in the summit clash on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium.
