Five IAS Officers of J&K Cadre Promoted to Selection Grade
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has approved the promotion of five Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers from the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre, now serving in the AGMUT cadre, to the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix).
According to the order, four officers—Asad Aijaz, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Piyush Singla, and Amit Sharma—have been promoted with effect from January 1, 2025, or the date they assume charge, whichever is earlier. Additionally, Ravinder Kumar has been granted proforma promotion to the same grade from January 1, 2025, and on an actual basis from the date of assumption of charge of his immediate junior.
Asad Aijaz currently serves as the Administrative Secretary of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department in Jammu and Kashmir, with additional responsibilities for the Civil Aviation Department and other key roles. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah is the Administrative Secretary of the Health and Medical Education Department in J&K.
Ravinder Kumar holds the position of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation in Delhi. Piyush Singla, the former Secretary of the School Education Department, is presently on study leave. Amit Sharma is posted as Special Secretary in the Mizoram Government.
This promotion highlights the officers’ contributions and responsibilities in various significant roles across the AGMUT cadre.
