Rohit also highlighted the hunger and dedication of the experienced players in the team, emphasizing how their presence positively influences the younger generation. “We have five to six players who are real stalwarts. It makes the job easier for all of us,” he added.

A Record-Breaking Knock in the Final

Leading India’s chase of 252 runs, Rohit Sharma delivered a captain’s knock, scoring a brilliant 76 off 83 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, at a strike rate of 91.56. This was Rohit’s first-ever half-century in an ICC event final, adding to his legacy in international cricket.

With this knock, Rohit has now accumulated 322 runs across 11 innings in nine ICC event finals, averaging 32.20. His 76 against New Zealand is now his highest score in any ODI final, surpassing his 66 against Australia in the Commonwealth Bank series final in 2008.

With this victory, India adds another ICC trophy to their cabinet, and with Rohit Sharma confirming his availability in ODIs, fans can expect more memorable performances from the veteran opener.
