Flag Controversy: I believe Pakistan should be sent back along with their flag: Bangladesh State Minister
A major controversy has erupted after the Pakistan cricket team hoisted their national flag during a practice session at the Mirpur ground in Bangladesh. The Pakistan team is on a tour to Bangladesh to play three T20Is and two Tests, starting November 19. The move has irked Bangladeshi citizens, who slammed the visitors for their unwarranted gesture.
Now, State Minister Murad Hasan was also not happy with this move of the team. He said that they cannot accept the team hoisting the Pakistan flag during practice sessions.
“I have nothing to say about the players on the Pakistan team. But we can’t accept them hoisting the Pakistan flag during practice sessions. Especially at a time when we’re celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, when we’re celebrating the golden jubilee of our independence. I believe they should be sent back along with their flag.
Our hearts wrench when we see the Pakistani flag. Why do they need the flag for a practice session? Is it drama or farce? This should not be allowed. We fought them and earned our independence through the blood of 3 million martyrs,” Murad Hasan told reporters on November 16 as quoted by bdnews24.com.
