Coronavirus Daily Cases and Deaths in India: India reports world’s highest single-day spike
INDIA , April 29 (KN): India witnessed the world’s highest single-day spike with 3,86,654 new cases of the coronavirus disease and 3,501 fatalities in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data.
The alarming numbers of single-day cases smashed all previous record of coronavirus cases in India since the disease struck the country in January last year. Covid-19 situation in India has turned grim with the country has been reporting over 3 lakh cases of coronavirus infections daily for almost a week now.
As per available data from covid19india.org, an independent aggregator of daily COVID-19 figures, India reports 3,86,654 new Covid19 cases and 3,501 new deaths in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state in India . Maharashtra reported 66,159 infections on April 29, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 35,104 new infections and Delhi with 24,235 new cases, according to the latest data.
Meanwhile, from May 1st, every single Indian adult i.e. above 18 years of age would be eligible for the Covid jab. There will be no walk-ins for vaccination under this phase as the government is expecting a huge number due to the size of the age bracket to be covered under this phase. To get a vaccination, one needs to register on the Cowin Portal. (KN)
