57 Kargil pilgrims arrived from Iran

 

Kargil: Over 50 pilgrims from Kargil who had been quarantined in Iran returned back to Kargil through a special flight on Tuesday morning.

Scores of pilgrims from Kargil are stranded in Iran-the country that has badly hit due to Coronavirus.

A couple of persons from Kargil have died in Iran due to Covid-19 while others were asked to stay put in the country and had been quarantined.

Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer-ul-Haq Chowdary told KNT that 57 pilgrims and students returned from Iran post quarantine. They landed in special flight from Hindon city of Iran. Chowdary added that Kargil administration is actively pursuing the return of next batch.

Scores of people from Kargil, Leh and Kashmir are stranded in different parts of Iran and India.

In Jaisalmar Rajhstan, there are Kashmiri students who have completed their quarantine period but are unable to land in Kashmir due to suspension on air and surface transport. (KNT)
