53 Kanal of Land Transferred to CRPF’s 53rd Battalion In North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The administration has allotted 53 kanal of state land to the paramilitary Central Reserve of Police Force (CRPF) for setting up a battalion camping site in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The Revenue Department of JK has transferred 53 kanal and three Marlas of land to the CRPF’s 53 battalion at Kitchama in Baramulla district after the administrative council headed by LG approved the proposal during its meeting held on June 07.

The land has been transferred to the paramilitary force under the provisions of Rule 310 of the General Financial Rules, 2017, against a payment of Rs 3 crore and 44 lakh.

According to the Revenue department’s order, “The CRPF must adhere to all provisions of laws relating to the Revenue/Housing & Urban Development Department, Forest, and J&K Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act, 2010 before utilising the land.”

As per the terms and conditions, the CRPF must take possession of the land within 30 days from the transfer order and put the land to use within three years. Failing this, the land shall revert to the government. (KNO)
