WhatsApp Edit Message Feature Now Available, Here’s How To Use

WhatsApp is the most used messaging platform across the globe and recently it started to roll out its much awaited message editing feature for users. As the name suggests, the feature allows users to edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it. Also, it is not possible to edit a message that has been sent from a different device. Until now, it was only available to iPhone users, but the company is now rolling out a message editing feature on Windows beta as well.

Beta users will now see an edit action within the message menu which will allow them to edit text messages, reports WABetaInfo. This feature will be helpful as sometimes we send messages with typos or inaccurate information because we are typing quickly or because autocorrect is on.

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg had announced this message editing feature last month.

How to edit message on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has released the new “Edit Message” feature for iPhone users in app version 23.10.77. iPhone users can visit the App Store and update their WhatsApp app to access this new feature.

Once updated, here is how you can use the new edit message option on WhatsApp:

• Select, press and hold the message you want to edit. This will highlight the message and display a contextual menu.
• On iOS, tap on the “Edit” option in the menu.
• On Android, locate the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the screen and tap on it to open the menu.
• You will be directed to a text field where you can make changes to the selected message. Type the new message you want to send in the text field.
• Once you have made the necessary edits to your message, tap the green check mark button located next to the text box. This will save your edited message.
