WATCH VIDEO: Riyan Parag Trolled Again After Got Mad At Ashwin For Not Taking A Single
Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Riyan Parag, who is a routine target of trolls on social media, was at the receiving end of yet another outrage by the cricket fans after an on-field altercation with his teammate R Ashwin during the Qualifier 1 of IPL 2022 vs Gujarat Titans at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag was not at all happy when he was forced to return to the pavilion after an ugly mix-up with senior player Ravichandran Ashwin against Gujarat Titans
What happened between Parag and Ashwin?
The last ball of the Rajasthan’s inning was bowled twice by yash Dayal after Jos Buttler got run out but it was a on a no-ball and then R Ashwin came on strike with Riyan Parag at the non-striker’s end. Dayal followed his extra ball (free hit) with a wide which was way outside the off stump. Ashwin left it alone and did not move while Parag ran to the batting end thinking there was a run there. He had almost reached the Ashwin’s end and then was shocked to see that the striker had not moved an inch and in a gesture asked him why he had not moved? Ashwin was angry at him for reacting without his call and stood there as Parag walked back, showing his anger at Ashwin.
It was utter chaos as Riyan Parag was not on his end, rather he was just a couple of yards away from Ashwin at the batter’s end. Parag had thought that Ashwin would take a run or sacrifice his wicket to let Parag on strike. Conversely, Ashwin had no such thoughts as a fuming Parag went back to the pavilion visibly angry with his batting partner.

Ashwin's gully cricket instincts kicked in. Man didn't even look at Parag running for the strike until the keeper threw the ball 😭

Meanwhile, Rajasthan were asked to bat first and with the help of Jos Buttler’s 89 and Sanju Samson’s quick 26 carries, RR put up a challenging 189-carry total for Gujarat.
The Gujarat Titans responded with Shubman Gill, who made a good start in GT with his 35 runs from 21 balls, and Matthew Wade, who hit 35 runs from 30 balls. But it was the pairing of Hardik Pandya and David Miller whose partnership was the reason for the Gujarat Titans’ victory. Pandya hit 40 runs from 27 balls with 5 fours while Miller showed his famous “killer Miller” form as he hit 68 runs in 38 balls and smashed 3 straight sixes in the penultimate over to lead GT to victory and the finals .
