Watch Video: Kane Williamson Displays Quick Reflexes to Save T20I Trophy From Falling in Windy Wellington

Team India is all set to take on New Zealand in a three-match T20I series, beginning November 18. Both sides will head into this series with a point to prove after suffering disappointing defeats in the semi-finals of the recently concluded T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue lost to England, while the Blackcaps were defeated by Pakistan. Ahead of what promises to be an exciting series between India and New Zealand, the two captains were involved in a hilarious interaction.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson displayed his quick reflexes to save the T20I trophy from falling when he was posing with India skipper Hardik Pandya during the official photo shoot before the series in Wellington on Wednesday. The trophy fell from the podium due to windy conditions in Wellington, when the two captains were getting ready for the pre-series photoshoot.

In the video, Pandya can be seen adjusting his shirt with Williamson standing beside with the trophy on a stand just in front of them. The heavy gusts from at the harbour suddenly began to blow the podium over and the two players stopped it from falling over.

Only that while Pandya caught the stand, Williamson grabbed the trophy. He saw the funny side of the moment and said, “I’ll have that!” before mockingly walking away with the trophy. India will be touring New Zealand for a white-ball series comprising three T20Is and as many ODIs after the World T20 in Australia. The series will be held between November 18 to 30 and New Zealand will return to India for a white-ball series in January next year.
