Watch Video: In a debut Pakistan pacer breaks Zimbabwe batsman helmet into pieces

Pakistan are currently in Zimbabwe for a brief tour comprising 2 Tests and 3 T20Is. The Test and the T20I series are originally scheduled at Harare Sports Club, Harare.

Pakistan won the first match and Zimbabwe won second of the three-match T20I series to take a 1-1 lead in the series.

Pakistan Pacer Arshad Iqbal made his T20I debut in the ongoing fixture against Zimbabwe. Ahead of the game, he received his debut cap from senior cricketer Mohammad Hafeez.

The veteran wished him good luck just before the game. The 20-year-old youngster bowled his full quota of 4 overs where he took 1 wicket to his name, conceding just 16 runs.

The young pacer grabbed the headlines when he bowled a deadly delivery to Tinashe Kamunhukamwe. The delivery was so lethal that it went on to hit the batsman’s helmet. The worst part was that Tinashe’s helmet broke into pieces. The cricket fraternity has never seen such an instance before.

The right-arm fast bowler might have probably hit the seam to counter the batsman. As it turned out, he beat the batsman with sheer pace as the ball smashed his helmet. “It’s a miracle that Tinashe Kamunhukamwe was OK to carry on after being struck in the side of the head – even his helmet couldn’t survive the blow!”
