Watch Video: Height of bad luck! CSK vs MI: Powercut in stadium leaves DRS disabled In IPL – Fans react on Social media

The match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday witnessed a bizarre incident that raised quite a few fingers on the standard of the Indian Premier League (IPL). CSK batter Devon Conway was denied taking a DRS after getting trapped in front by Daniel Sams in the first over. Several social media posts and cricket websites reported that the inconvenience was caused due to a power cut at the venue. However, no official statement has been released by the league so far.

The incident took place right off the second ball of the CSK innings. Daniel Sams bowled a length delivery that shaped in to beat Conway’s flick. The latter was struck on the pads around the leg and umpire Chirra Ravikanthreddy gave it straightaway.

Soon after, CSK lost Moeen Ali as well, and then obin Uthappa was again adjudged LBW next over off Jasprit Bumrah. With another contentious decision going against them, CSK were left frustrated with no reviews to take. Soon after Uthappa’s dismissal, power returned in the stadium and DRS was available again.

Conway had been in great touch heading into this game with scores of 85, 56 and 87 in the last three matches, but was gone for a first ball duck here. Fans reacted wildly to the incident as CSK fans were pretty upset with the big decision going against them.
