Watch Video:  Australia Cricketers Drink Beer From Shoes To Celebrate First T20 World Cup Win

Team Australia ended their jinx at the T20 World Cup by lifting the title after they defeated rivals New Zealand in an epic final on Sunday. The champion team celebrated wildly first in the dressing room and then while on the plane to Australia.

Needing 173 to win, Mitchell Marsh and David Warner got the job done for the Aussies with stunning half-centuries, to seal their eighth title overall in ICC tournaments.

Celebrations started in the dressing room. Champagne was spilled over each other and beer was overflowing in the team’s dressing room.

Australia had been written off before the T20 World Cup having lost their last five bilateral series, but trumped one and all with some brilliant cricket overall.

The Aussies had the last laugh and pictures quickly emerged on social media of the squad celebrating the glory. Steve Smith uploaded a selfie with Adam Zampa lauding his efforts during the tournament, while Glenn Maxwell was seen wearing ski-goggles during the celebrations.

In this video, Australian players are seen drinking beer and celebrating. During this, Matthew Wade takes out the shoe of his left foot and pours a can of beer in it and drinks a sip of beer from the shoe itself. After this Marcus Stoinis takes this shoe from him and then he also drinks it by pouring his beer in it. Apart from this, in another video, the players were also seen dancing to the tune of music.

Wade and Stoinis were the heroes of Australia’s stunning win in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup. Wade won the match by hitting Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi for three consecutive sixes in the 19th over. On Sunday, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Josh Hazlewood emerged as heroes on the big night in Dubai as Australia ended their 14-year-long wait for a maiden T20 World Cup trophy. Australia made light work of a 173-run target as Kane Williamson’s stunning 85 went in vain for New Zealand in the final of T20 World Cup 2021 on Sunday.
