WATCH VIDEO: Amazing Spirit Of Cricket Gesture! Virat Kohli Wins Hearts In Qualifier 2 Makes Fans Stand And Applaud; Twitter Salutes Virat
Virat Kohli had a poor outing with the bat in the second qualifier of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) after being dismissed for just 7 runs after facing eight deliveries against Rajasthan Royal (RR). The former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper was stunned by the extra bounce of a delivery from Prasidh Krishna and ended up edging the ball to wicket-keeper Sanju Samson behind the stumps.
However, Virat Kohli showed the ultimate ‘Spirit of Cricket’ gesture in Qualifier 2 match against Rajasthan Royals as he refuses to take an extra run after the ball deflects of his bat for an overthrow on Sunday at Narendra Modi Stadium. During the first over of the RCB innings, Kohli played a flick toward square leg and ran for a quick single. Jos Buttler dived and attempted a direct hit, but Kohli was safely home. The ball didn’t hit the stumps but it deflected off Kohli’s bat, forcing the RR fielder at the other end to go off for a chase. The RCB star put his hand up, signaling that he won’t be taking another run and further pointing towards himself, acknowledging that the ball had deflected off him.
