Update Your e-Shram Card On E-Shram Portal To Get Rs 2 Lakhs – Direct Link Available Here

The E-Shram portal which was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment under the Government of India to form a database of workers in unorganized sectors on August 26, 2021. Around 20 crore registrations have been done on the E-Shram portal so far. All the workers registered will be given an E-Shram card to avail benefits. Workers of all segments can register themselves with the help of Aadhar numbers and bank details. Workers will benefit from the government’s adoption of social security programs.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment’s website, the following is key information about e-Shram.

There are  some Benefits in this Scheme:

  • The first benefit: All the unorganised workers registered under the scheme will be given accidental Insurance Coverage under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana(PMSBY) for 365 days.
  • If the insured person dies, the nominee will get Rs 2 lakh.
  • If someone loses both of his/her hands, feet, or eyes in an accident, he/she will still get the benefit of Rs 2 lakhs.
  • If he/she loses sight of one eye or is disabled in one leg or hand, then he/she will get a benefit of Rs 1 lakh.

Documents required for registration on the E-Shram portal:

  • Aadhaar number
  • Aadhar linked to an active mobile number
  • Bank account details
  • Age must be between 16-59 years

Steps to register for an E-Shram card online:

Workers can register on the e-SHRAM portal for free of cost and they are not required to pay any additional charges for registration. Follow these steps to register or update on the e-SHRAM portal:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of e-SHRAM portal- https://www.eshram.gov.in/. You can visit the official web address using any internet browser.
  • Step 2: Click on the ‘Register on e-SHRAM’ section. You will be redirected to a new page https://register.eshram.gov.in/#/user/self
  • Step 3: Enter your Aadhaar linked mobile number on the self-registered option. Enter the captcha.
  • Step 4: Select the desired options regarding members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) or the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Click on send OTP.
  • Step 5: You will be asked to enter your bank details to complete the registration process.
  • Step 6: Beneficiaries can also avail free registration if they do not have an Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Visit the nearest CSC and get yourself registered through the Biometric authentication process.
