South Kashmir: Unknown Disease Claims Lives of 30 Cows- Know Details
Srinagar 17 Oct: At least 30 cows have died in south Kashmir Tral’s Pinglish area after the outbreak of some unknown disease since last month, said locals on Tuesday.
They told that the disease, which is spreading each day, has claimed the lives of around 30 cows in their area.
This unknown disease has been proving very serious as close to 30 cows have been killed so far due to it.
We have never seen the outbreak of such disease before among our cows,” said one of the locals.
Another local, who also lost his cow, said that the disease is yet to be brought under control and is taking the form of an epidemic.
We have already lost our cows to the fatal disease. If it will not be controlled, a huge loss will have to be borne by us,” he added.
The locals appealed to the Animal Husbandry Department for referring a team of experts to the Pinglish area so that they could find out which disease has been consuming the lives of their cows.
Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Dept. Dr Altaf Lawey regarding the issue said that he would immediately talk to the concerned officer in the district and would tell him to send a team to the area. (CNS)
