Snow, Rain Expected in J&K Due to Western Disturbance: MeT
Srinagar, Dec 2: The Kashmir Valley is experiencing chilly weather, with night temperatures improving slightly but still below freezing. The Meteorological Department (MeT) has predicted a weak Western Disturbance (WD) that may bring light snowfall and rain to higher areas of Jammu and Kashmir between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Afterward, the weather is expected to remain dry until December 7. Another brief wet spell with light snow and rain might occur on December 8, followed by dry weather till December 12.
Tourist spots like Gulmarg and Pahalgam remain the coldest areas, with temperatures dropping to minus 2.9°C and minus 2.3°C, respectively. Srinagar’s night temperature improved slightly to minus 0.8°C, while Qazigund, Pahalgam, and Kupwara also reported sub-zero temperatures.
Dense fog over Srinagar’s Dal Lake and other areas has disrupted daily life, though the weather is expected to clear in the coming days.
