SKIMS Announces Winter Vacation for Faculty Members
The Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) has announced its winter vacation schedule for faculty members for 2025. The vacation will be divided into two halves:
- First half: January 1 to January 28, 2025
- Second half: February 1 to February 28, 2025
All Heads of Departments (HoDs) are instructed to prepare and submit a roster for faculty members intending to avail either half of the vacation, ensuring that at least 50% of the faculty remains available at all times. Senior faculty members must also be included in the roster for better coverage during both halves of the vacation.

The administration reserves the right to recall any faculty member during the vacation in case of emergencies. The roster submission must include residential addresses and contact numbers for those proceeding on vacation. Additionally, it should specify whether station-leaving permission is required.
The deadline for submitting the vacation roster is December 20, 2024.
This circular highlights that any leave for conferences, seminars, or workshops requiring station-leaving permission will not be granted unless explicitly mentioned in the roster.
