In a bizarre incident, a sheep in South Soudan (Africa) was convicted of the murder of a woman and is set to serve a three-year prison sentence.

According to a report on Sudan’s Eye Radio, the animal was taken into police custody earlier this month after it attacked and killed 45-year-old Adhieu Chaping. The sheep had headbutted Chaping repeatedly, breaking her ribs. She had died immediately.

Meanwhile, the police have relieved the owner of the sheep from any legal liabilities, saying he is innocent of the “guilty” sheep’s misdeeds.

The police report emphasizes that the sheep deserved to be arrested given the strong evidence linking it to the death of the woman.
