Senior Army Officer Booked For Abetting Suicide Of Woman Military Intelligence Officer, Was Blackmailing Her With Videos, Photos
Pune, 17th October 2021: A Brigadier rank officer of the Indian Army has been booked by Pune City Police for allegedly abetting suicide of a 42-year-old woman officer of the Military Intelligence (MI).
Police said that the the accused was allegedly blackmailing her with objectionable photos and videos. He had threatened to make them viral on social media.The incident took place between 2019 and October 12, 2021.
On October 13 morning, the woman, a Lt Colonel rank officer, was found hanging in her room at the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD). She was a native of Uttarakhand and was posted in Jaipur. She had come to Pune for a training purpose.
Based on a complaint from her husband who is also an Army officer (Colonel), the case has been registered against her superior officer Brigadier Ajit Millu at Wanowrie Police Station. He has been booked for offence under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Millu is currently posted at Army Training Command in Shimla.
“Brigadier Millu took advantage of her loneliness and trapped her in love affair. He promised to marry her and made videos of physical relations. He had made videos and clicked photos of the act. He was blackmailing her after threatening to make them public. She got frightened and died by suicide”, an officer said.
Earlier Army had issued a statement on October 13 which stated, “An incident of likely suicide by an officer has occurred in the premises of Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Pune. The officer was undergoing a course in the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Pune. A case with the civil police has been registered and the matter is under investigation. Army is providing all assistance in the case investigation.”
