Anantnag, April 25 (KN): Inhabitants of Muslim Abad, Waghama village of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday staged protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to fulfill their demands.

The residents as per the Kashmir News correspondent said that there are around 70 households in the village but the authorities have provided 100 KV transformer to the villagers, which is not appropriate and develop frequent technical snag.

Assembling outside, the protesting residents said that ” before three months DC Anantnag has sanctioned us a new Transformer but we don’t understand why PDD department is not provding us the same”.

We were continuously appealing PDD to provide us another transformer or upgrade 100 KV with a high capacity one, said a protester.

The protestors alleged that the area was reeling under darkness for the past days and we have been forced to hit the streets as the concerned authorities have failed to mitigate our problems.

They appealed Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla to look into the matter. (KN)
