Police recovers kidnapped girl in Kashmir- accused person arrested

Srinagar, September 01 (KN) : Police in Sopore have recovered a kidnapped girl within six hour and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.

Police Station Dangiwacha received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his daughter was kidnapped by one person namely Sahil Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rahim Dar resident of Hathishah Sopore.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 159/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, a team headed by SHO Police Station Dangiwacha under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Shri Nissar Ahmad-JKPS was constituted to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl. Acting on specific leads and by utilizing all available means, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person involved in the commission of crime within six hours after complaint was received.

After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress.

Swift action by Police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood.
