PHE Dept Issues Water Shortage Warning for Srinagar Residents

Srinagar, June 30, 2025 — The Executive Engineer of the Water Works Division, Srinagar, has issued an urgent public notice informing residents about a disruption in water supply on July 1, 2025. The interruption is due to emergency repair work on the Sindh Power Canal (PDC) being carried out by the CMD Ganderbal.

As a result of these repairs, the raw water supply to the Alusteng and Rangil Water Treatment Plants will be significantly affected. Consequently, major areas in Srinagar city and surrounding regions will face a shortage of potable water.

Affected localities include:
Zakoora, Gulab Bagh, Alusteng, Shuhama, Hadoora, Chatterhama, Khlamulla, Habak, Naseem Bagh, Busserbagh, Malla Bagh, Pandach, Buchpora, Soura, Anchar, Bohlohipora, Zoonimar, Nowshera, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan, Zadibal, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Rajouri Kadal, Nallamar, Nawakadal, Bohori Kadal, Nowhatta, Lal Bazar, Hazratbal, Sadribal, parts of Rainawari, Nigeen, Saida Kadal, Karan Nagar, Chattabal, Kawdara, Eidgah, Maharajgunj, Zaina Kadal, Saidpora, Bemina, Firdous Abad, Batmaloo, Qamarwari, Zainakoot, Noorabad, Umarabad and nearby areas.
