Petrol in National Capital Gets Cheaper After Govt Reduces VAT- Check New Rates Here
The Delhi government reduced the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.40 per cent. The decision was taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal yesterday.
Petrol is priced at ₹95.41 as against yesterday’s rate of Rs103.97 in Dehli. Prices of Petrol in Delhi becomes cheapest in the entire NCR. Currently, in Gurgaon and Noida, a litre of petrol can be bought at ₹95.90 and ₹95.51 respectively.
Diesel is priced at ₹86.67 per litre. The city’s diesel prices are already the “cheapest” in NCR at ₹86.67 per litre while the rates of diesel in Noida and Gurgaon are ₹87.01 and ₹87.11 per litre, respectively.
On the eve of Diwali this year, the Centre cut excise duty by Rs 5 per litre on petrol and Rs 10 per litre on diesel to bring down the retail prices across the country. Several states have already cut VAT on petrol and diesel.
