The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has announced a vacancy for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Physics under a BRNS-DAE funded project titled “Compositional engineering of AREXO₄ (A=Li, K, Cs; RE=Gd, Y, Lu; X=Si or Ge) type of phosphor compounds for X-ray imaging technologies via their storage/scintillation characteristics.”

There is one position available, and the selected candidate will work on research for a period of three years. The fellowship amount is ₹37,000 per month for the first two years and ₹42,000 per month in the third year, along with HRA, subject to BRNS approval. Candidates will also have the opportunity to register for a Ph.D. at NIT Srinagar, as per the institute’s rules.

Applicants must hold an M.Sc. in Physics with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA and must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET, LS, or GATE. The maximum age limit for applicants is 28 years, with relaxations up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Challenged (PwD) candidates.
