NCDC pays homage to Northern India flood victims
Expressing profound grief over the rain-related calamities, the Core committee of National Child Development Council paid homage to the flood victims in northern India.
At least 40 people have died and others are missing in flash floods triggered by intense monsoon rains in northern India over the past few days.
The rains overwhelmed hundreds of villages, sweeping away houses and leaving residents stranded as rescue crews have been racing to evacuate survivors.
Master Trainer of NCDC and Global Goodwill Ambassador Baba Alexander said that there are so many disaster inspite of the advanced technologies and put forward three suggestions that accurate warning should be given to the people on these areas.
He said that such places should be alerted where climatic disasters are prone, while local people should be given awareness and trained as in armed forces for emergency purposes on these areas.
