Man killed by his daughter’s in laws after a verbal spat between two families Turned ugly in Kashmir

The deceased has been identified as Gh. Ahmad waza of Wazpoora Naidkhai was killed when a verbal spat between two families turned ugly on an issue of family matter.

Bandipora : Panic gripped Naidkhai locality in Sonawari area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district when the news spread in the area that an old man has been killed allegedly by his close relative.

The deceased has been identified as Gh. Ahmad waza of Wazpoora Naidkhai was killed when a verbal spat between two families turned ugly on an issue of family matter.

Son of the deceased Ejaz Ahmad waza son of deceased said. “On May 6th I along with my father went to my pregnant sisters in-laws at Shadipora Sumbal to enquire and to settle an issue of harassment in which my sister’s in-laws and her husband had beaten her”.

He said that few days ago, we took our sister to our home for few days, but after 15 days her husband Wasim Ahmad took her wife forcefully and beaten her on the way at Shadipora and left her isolated in the midway during evening time.

Sana (name changed) said “My phone and pocket he snatched I have nothing with me, there were darkness clouds when he was beating me and he left me alone.For a couple of minutes I felt I will die soon a pregnant sana added.

She further said Fortunately I found one men on the road and I requested him for phone call then I called my father, I told him all the episode what I faced.

“When my father raised the issue of harrasment with the father in-law of my sister and his family members present on the occasion, they in response turned volatile and inspite listening us , allegedly attacked my father with lathi, resulting critical injuries to my him”. Ejaz brother of Sana added.

He further said that they rushed the injured to the hospital, where he after remaining under treatment for four days scumbed to his injuries.

The family of the deceased have demanded that their father’s killers be punished as soon as possible so that justice can be done with us.

They said that they have lodged a report in the nearby police station in this connection.
When contacted police station Sumabal, they said FIR has been registered a case under FIR No. 72/2020 u/s 341,324 IPC in this connection and investigation is going on. (KNS)
