“We applied in many foreign universities but didn’t meet the eligibility criteria because of low percentage in our class 12th. We have to score above 90 percent marks to become eligible for admission in foreign universities,” the students said.
These students later applied for divisional-improvement exam to improve the pass percentage in class 12th and become eligible for admission in foreign universities.

“The divisional-improvement examination was supposed to be conducted by BOSE in March 2020, but was postponed due to COVID19,” the student said. “The exam was finally held to September 2020.
The students said that the deferment of exams due to COVID19 also proved costly for them and they lost the opportunity to apply for admission in foreign universities since their deadlines had already passed.
They said the board had claimed to declare the result of divisional improvement exam by November 15.
“Unfortunately, the result was not declared till date. Most of the universities abroad will close the admission process within days but the board officials seem to be in no mood to declare our result,” the students said.
Some of these students have already appeared in international level competitive exams like SAT, TOEFL and have scored good marks as well.
“Now we have to apply in the universities, but the delay in results by BOSE is acting as an obstacle for us,” the students said.
The aggrieved students appealed the authorities in JKBOSE to look into the matter and announce their results at the earliest to save their future.
Joint Secretary Examination BOSE, Prof Aijaz Ahmad Hakak said the result would be declared within three to four days. (GK)
