J&K Schools Shut as Authorities Take Precaution Against Floods, Landslides || Details Here
Srinagar, March 15: In response to continuous heavy rains, multiple district administrations in Jammu and Kashmir have ordered the closure of schools to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The Ramban district administration was the first to issue an order shutting down all government and private schools for the day due to persistent rainfall. Officials emphasized that the move was necessary to protect students and teachers from potential hazards.

Similarly, authorities in Kishtwar and Gurez (Bandipora district) have also directed the closure of all educational institutions as a precautionary measure against the ongoing adverse weather conditions. The region has been experiencing heavy rainfall for several days, raising concerns about possible floods and landslides.
Meanwhile, the Kupwara district administration has extended the closure in high-altitude areas until March 17. Schools in Machil, Keran, Budnambal, Kumkadi, Jumagund, and upper Karnah will remain shut due to incessant rain and snowfall.
With the weather department predicting further rainfall, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure public safety.
