JEE Main 2022 likely in March Instead Of February, Will Conduct Four Times, NEET 2022 In May – Latest Updates On NTA Exams
NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 is expected to be held from March instead of February due to the upcoming assembly elections in five states. The engineering entrance exam, JEE Mains 2022 will be conducted four times by the National Testing Agency this year as well, as per the Times of India report. JEE Mains 2022 likely in March, April, May and June
Speaking on the proposed dates for the JEE Mains and NEET – two of the largest entrance examinations conducted by NTA, an official from Ministry of Education told TOI that the exams for the engineering entrance might be delayed due to the pending elections in many states early next year.
“Considering the pending elections, the schedule could be tweaked this year. The first exam is likely to be scheduled in March, followed by April, May and June,” the senior official shared. No update was shared in regards the start of the Application dates, at present. Given the timeline, however, it is likely that the registration for JEE Mains 2022 might begin from January itself on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
NEET 2022 likely only once and in May
As for the NEET 2022 for admission to undergraduate medical and dental course sin the country, the ministry official has shared that at present it is likely to be conducted in May. On the pattern of NEET and the number of exams, the official shared that the demand to conduct NEET multiple times and in computer based test or CBT format (like JEE Mains) was submitted to the Ministry of Health.
“So far no decision has been taken on the same,” he added, sharing that as per the present decisions, NEET 2022 is scheduled for May 2022. These dates, it may be noted, are subject to changes based on the situation of the pandemic. Information and updates would be made available in due course of time on neet.nta.nic.in.
CET for admission to Central Universities – in May/ June
Apart from these, NTA is also expected to conduct the Combined Entrance Test or CET for Central Universities from this academic year onwards. The examinations are likely to be conducted in May this year. However, from next year onwards, it is expected that the CET would be conducted multiple times, as is envisaged in the National Education Policy, NEP 2020. Clarity on whether CUCET would replace BHU Entrance, JNU Entrance, DUET, etc. is still awaited.

Apart from JEE Mains, NEET and now CET, NTA also conducts examination for UGC NET, ICAR AIEEA, JNU entrance, BHU entrance test, etc. Dates and notifications are expected to be released on the official websites of the respective examination soon.
