Jammu and Kashmir government ordered suspension of two senior police officers- Order Copy Here

Jammu and Kashmir government on Sunday ordered suspension of two senior police officers including DySP Sheikh Adil, who was recently arrested in a corruption case in Srinagar.

Order copy reads, In terms of Rule 31(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956, Shri Adil Mushtaq, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PID No.KPS1S5772, shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension with effect from 21.09.2023 i.e. the date of arrest of the Officer in case FIR No. 149/2023 under sections 7, 7A of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and sections 167, 193, 201, 210, 218, 221 of IPC in Police Station Nowgam.

It is further ordered that the Officer shall remain attached to Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir, during the period of suspension.

In another order copy which reads as J&K government suspended Gowhar Ahmad Khan, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Budgam with immediate effect.

This suspension comes under Rule 31(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending an inquiry into his conduct. As per the order issued by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Gowhar Ahmad Khan will remain attached to the Zonal Police Headquarters Kashmir during the period of his suspension.
