Israeli strikes destroyed 47 mosques, damaged 7 churches: Gaza gov’t
Gaza’s media office said that 203 schools and 80 government offices were also destroyed in the last three weeks.
Salama Maarouf, the director of the office, was quoted by Al Jazeera Arabic as saying that 220,000 housing units were damaged due to the massive bombardment, and 32,000 buildings were completely destroyed.
Earlier, the government’s media office in Gaza reported that Israel’s army threatened to bomb an Orthodox cultural centre and a school housing more than 1,500 displaced people.
More than 8,000 people have been killed in Gaza since October 7, including more than 3,000 children and more than 2,000 women. At least 20,000 others have been injured.

United States vice president Kamala Harris stressed that Washington has “absolutely no intention” of sending troops to Israel or Gaza amid the ongoing conflict, CNN reported on Sunday. “We have absolutely no intention, nor do we have any plans, to send combat troops into Israel or Gaza, period,” Harris said in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” that aired on Sunday when asked about the potential for US troops to be drawn into a war in the region.
Harris, who has been engaged in discussions and phone conversations concerning the Middle East crisis, expressed full support for the government’s plans. Harris said that she supports Israel’s right to defend itself while also advocating for the protection of civilians

Staunch US ally Jordan asked Washington to deploy Patriot air defence systems to bolster its border defence at a time of heightened regional tensions and conflict, the spokesperson for the country’s army said on Sunday. Jordan has been increasingly nervous that Israel’s relentless bombing of Gaza since a deadly assault on Israel by Hamas from the enclave on October 7 could also spread into a wider conflagration.
Israel Hamas war: IDF carries out airstrikes in southern Syria in response to rocket fire
The Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes at multiple sites in southern Syria in response to rocket fire on the Golan Heights hours earlier, Times of Israel reported in the early hours of Monday. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said in a statement that it struck launchers responsible for the cross-border fire.
“In response to the launches: the IDF attacked the launchers from which the launches were carried out from Syrian territory. An IDF fighter jet attacked a short time ago the launchers from which the launches were made from Syrian territory towards Israeli territory last night,” IDF posted on X (formerly Twitter).
