Indian Army Announced Major Changes in Agniveer Recruitment For Candidates Wishing to Join the Force- Details Here
The Indian Army has announced major changes in the Agniveer recruitment process under the Agnipath scheme for candidates wishing to join the force. Aspirants will now have to first appear for an online common entrance examination (CEE), followed by physical fitness and medical tests.
Earlier, the recruitment process for Agniveers followed a different order. The candidates had to first undergo the physical fitness test, which was followed by their medical tests. They had to qualify the CEE as the last step.
Advertisements announcing the change in the enrollment process were put out by the Army in various newspapers. An official notification in this regard is expected to be issued around mid-February.
New Recruitment Methodology
STEP 1: Online Common Entrance Test (CEE) For All Candidates at Nominated Centres
STEP 2: Physical Fitness Test For CEE Qualified Candidates During Recruitment Rallies.
STEP 3: Medical Tests
So far, 19,000 Agniveers have joined the Army and 21,000 will join the force from the first week of March. The new recruitment rules will apply to around 40,000 candidates willing to join the Army from the next recruitment cycle of 2023-24.
