The regions of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh experienced biting cold as minimum temperatures plummeted across various districts. The Kashmir Valley, in particular, recorded sub-zero temperatures in most areas, while Ladakh witnessed some of the coldest conditions in the region.
Kashmir Region:
The coldest spot in Kashmir was Shopian, which recorded a bone-chilling low of -10.2°C, followed by Anantnag at -8.1°C and Gulmarg at -8.8°C. Popular tourist destinations like Pahalgam and Sonamarg also saw freezing temperatures of -7.6°C and -7.2°C, respectively. Srinagar, the summer capital, recorded a minimum of -4.4°C, while Kupwara was relatively warmer at -0.3°C.
