Hyundai Pakistan Bats For Freedom Of Kashmir- Indian Netizens Started Boycott Hyundai Trend, Hyundai Issues Statement
Hyundai’s social media accounts in Pakistan called for ‘Kashmir’s freedom’ on Sunday. Taking to Twitter and Facebook, Hyundai Pakistan marked ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ on February 5 and urged people to remember the ‘sacrifices’ of Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
Posting an image from Kashmir, the caption read, “Let us remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers and stand in support as they continue to struggle for freedom.” On Instagram, a similar post was shared with a slightly different caption reading, “Praying for the liberation of our eternally beautiful Kashmir today and always.”
It is important to mention that in Pakistan, South Korea’s Hyundai is in partnership with Nishat Mills, a subsidiary of Nishat Group. After facing massive flak on social media, the accounts of ‘Hyundai Pakistan’ have deleted their Facebook post and tweet.

Cars Sold by Hyundai Motors in 2021
India – 505,000
Pakistan – 8000Yet @Hyundai_Global chose to needle India via its Pakistani Handle. Either they are very stupid and lack business sense or they have hired a very incompetent PR team which led to #BoycottHyundai disaster pic.twitter.com/jProIRNqYi

Hyundai’s message after backlash on Pak Dealer’s Kashmir Tweet:
Hyundai Motor India said on Sunday that it stands firm on its ethos of respecting nationalism following a backlash on social media after a Hyundai dealer in Pakistan posted a message supporting separatists in Kashmir.
A Twitter account of a Hyundai dealer in Pakistan with handle @hyundaiPakistanOfficial had posted a message that the day supports ‘Kashmir Solidarity’, and supports what it called “fight for freedom”.
After that, #BoycottHyundai trended on Twitter in India with many people asking to stop buying products from the company in the country.
In response to the developments, Hyundai Motors India posted a message on social media reiterating its commitment to the Indian market.
“Hyundai MotorIndia has been committed to the Indian market for over 25 years now and we stand firm for our strong ethos of respecting nationalism,” it said.
The company added: “The unsolicited post on social media linking Hyundai Motor India offends our unparalleled commitment and service to this great country.”
Noting that India is the second home for the Hyundai brand, the company said: “We have a zero-tolerance policy for insensitive communication and we strongly condemn any such opinion.”
Hyundai Motor India added, “As part of our commitment to India, we will continue our efforts to improve the country and its citizens.”
