Hot Weather Guidelines for Schools
Children are more vulnerable to heat!
They heat up faster and sweat less than adults.
May not feel thirsty during play — remind them to drink Water!
Heads of Schools, To ensure the following for safety of children:
✅ Stay Hydrated: Encourage frequent water breaks.
✅ Seek Shade: Avoid direct sun between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
✅ Limit Outdoor Activity: Especially strenuous ones.
✅ Check Surfaces: Ensure furniture & playground equipment are not too hot.
✅ Classroom Comfort: Monitor indoor temperature.
Watch for Signs of Heat Illness:
- Heat exhaustion
- Heat Cramps
- Heat stroke
(Follow first aid procedures promptly.)
Extra Care For:
- Young children
- Physically challenged ♿
- Children with chronic illnesses like asthma 🌬️
