Heatwave Grips J&K: Jammu Sizzles at 40°C, Qazigund Hottest in Kashmir
The heatwave continues to grip Jammu and Kashmir, with several areas recording significantly high temperatures today.

In the Kashmir region, Qazigund topped the chart at 33.0°C, followed closely by Srinagar at 32.2°C. Other areas also witnessed warm conditions, including Kokernag at 31.4°C and Kupwara at 29.9°C. Cooler weather prevailed in the higher reaches, with Pahalgam recording 27.2°C and Gulmarg remaining the coolest at 23.6°C.
The Jammu region experienced sweltering heat, with Jammu city reaching a scorching 40.0°C, making it the hottest location in the Union Territory today. Katra followed at 37.4°C, while Bhaderwah, Batote, and Banihal recorded temperatures around the 31°C mark.
In Ladakh, temperatures remained relatively mild, with Leh recording a high of 20.4°C, offering some respite from the heat felt elsewhere.
