CWG 2022: Babar Azam gesture – Pakistan captain is making winning the hearts of people a habit it seems. After showing support to legendary cricketer Virat Kohli, Azam in a heartwarming gesture has announced a 2 million reward to Nooh Dastagir Butt for bagging Pakistan’s first gold medal in the ongoing CWG 2022 games.

Butt, a weightlifter made the nation (Pakistan) proud by lifting a record 405 kg. Pakistan skipper was immensely proud of Butt’s phenomenal achievement and has promised to pay 2 million.
Taking to Twitter, Babar wrote: “Roar Pakistan! Extremely proud of these superstars. All our athletes deserve proper structure, support, and state-of-the-art facilities.”

Pakistan’s weightlifter Butt bagged the first gold medal for his country in the men’s 109+kg. He lifted a total of 405kg, which included 173kg in snatch and 232kg in clean and jerk.
“I’m thankful to my family and friends for their prayers,” Butt said after his victory.
“I want to dedicate this medal to my father, who worked hard on me for 12 years and helped me win this medal,” he added.
Not only Babar but others across the nation were proud of the weightlifter’s achievement. Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, praised Nooh Butt via Twitter for his achievement in CWG 2022. This is the country’s second gold medal in the weightlifting category.
For Pakistan in the 85 kg division in 2006, Shujauddin Malik took home the gold medal. So far in the competition as of August 4, Pakistan has 2 medals. One of them is gold and another one bronze.
