Headmaster of a Govt School Secured Job With Fake Marksheet, Asked to Return 26 Years’ Salary
The headmaster of a government school who was recently indicted in a probe for burnishing his credentials for the job with a fake marksheet faces not only a police case but a stiff penalty, with the education department ordering the recovery of the entire salary paid to him during his tenure of nearly 26 years.
On Monday, Noida police registered a case against Joginder Singh, who was dismissed as the headmaster of the Government Primary School at Patadi in Dadri on May 12.
The accused hails from Ranoli Latifpur village. In 1997, he created a fake marksheet for Class 12 and obtained a job as a government teacher. No one suspected the authenticity of his qualifications at that time.
However, on May 12, Narendra Kumar Srivastava, the Block Education Officer in Dadri, was informed that Joginder Kumar, a teacher at the government primary school, had acquired the position through a forged marksheet. Subsequently, an investigation was initiated by the education department.
Providing further details about the case, Aishwarya Lakshmi, the Basic Education Officer in Gautam Budh Nagar, stated that her department received information regarding a man who used a fake marksheet to secure a job. Upon scrutiny of the records, it was discovered that the accusation was indeed true.
She said that the BSA has ordered that Singh’s salary of 26 years and digital gadgets provided to him by the department should be recovered as a penalty.
If the complaint hadn’t been received, Singh would have been able to remain in the position till 2036 tentatively.
