CBSE Board Exam 2024: Guidelines For Class 10th, 12th Practical Examination Released

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the guidelines for the 10th and 12th board exams. CBSE has shared these guidelines on their official website, cbse.gov.in.

The CBSE 10th, 12th datesheet was released on December 12, 2023. According to media reports, over 38 lakh students are expected to appear in the CBSE board exams 2024. Of these, 16,96,770 are from Class 12 and 21,86,940 belong to Class 10. CBSE board class 10 exams will be conducted between February 15 and March 13, 2024. While CBSE class 12 exams will held between February 15 to April 2, 2023.

Earlier, CBSE had issued dates for practical exams and internal assessments separately for regular session schools, and winter bound schools. The board has instructed to carry it out as mentioned below:

School Type Session Period
Winter Bound Schools 14th November to 14th December, 2023
Regular Session Schools 1st January, 2024 to 14th February, 2024
According to the notice, the schools have been instructed to inform the parents and students regarding the schedule, format and any specific requirements for practical exams. They have been asked to ensure that a sufficient number of practical answer books have been received in the school before the scheduled date of the practical examination.

  • Ensure timely that the sufficient number of practical answer books have been received in the school before the scheduled date for conduct of practical examination.
  • Schools should inform parent and students regarding the schedule, format, and any specific requirements for the practical examinations.
  • Ensure that the necessary arrangements like infrastructure, equipment, and materials are available in the laboratories for conducting practical exams. Reaffirm that the laboratories or facilities are adequately set up for students to perform their experiments.
  • Contact the examiners well in time for smooth and timely conduct of examination process on the scheduled date and time.
  • Identify students with special needs or disabilities and make arrangements of necessary accommodations to ensure they can participate in the practical exams comfortably.
